Denny Derrick began playing tennis in 1996 at the tender age of nine (9) as a participant in the Anguilla Tennis Academy program. He graduated from the program at the age of seventeen (17) and began working as a tennis instructor giving back to the children of Anguilla. In 2005, he was assigned to Cuisinart Resort and Spa as an assistant teaching pro and hitting partner to gain more experience. In 2009, he was given the position of Head Tennis Professional at the Anguilla Tennis Academy world class facility located in Blowing Point. His great work ethic and dedication to the sport has now earned him the opportunity to become the Tennis Director of Cuisinart Resort and Spa.
Denny is a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified tennis instructor. In addition, he is the only local bilingual coach on the island. He speaks both Spanish and English fluently. Denny has received many awards and titles for his outstanding playing ability. He was honored in 2006 as best tennis player in Anguilla as three time National Champion.
Denny main goal is to continue developing his tennis skills while helping others, in particular children to learn the game. He is an aggressive baseliner with great agility. Watch out for his ground strokes as he is consistent from both sides. His favorite tennis players are Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych and Caroline woznaicki. Denny hopes to become one of the top tennis players in the Caribbean Region.
