Shauna has been a member of the Anguilla Tennis Academy since its inception in 1996 where she began as a student of the Academy participating in its annual summer program until she was over the age limit. Instead of moving on to other things, Shauna continued to give her support to the summer program by assisting with monitoring the kids, keeping them focused in their lines and keeping the energy up. In 2002 she became an official assistant coach with the Academy for the summer program, giving corrective instructions and running drills.
At the end of summer 2002, Shauna departed for Toronto Canada initially pursuing a BEng in Electrical Engineering, but later switching to her first passion of Computer Science. In June 2007 Shauna graduated from Ryerson University with her BSc. in Computer Science. Over the 5 years that she was in Toronto studying whenever Shauna came home she checked in with the Academy keeping up with the various programmes’ growth.
In September 2007 Shauna began teaching Mathematics and Physics to middle and upper class high school students full time at the local high school. Because of her passion for tennis and the Anguilla Tennis Academy, she worked part-time with the Academy in the After School Programme during this period. In February 2009 she was offered the position which she currently holds: Office Manager of the Anguilla Tennis Academy. Shauna also became a PTR Certified Coach after completion of the certification test in July 2009.
