The second annual Family Doubles Tournament will be held Saturday, February 27th at the grounds of the Anguilla Tennis Academy in Blowing Point. The event will begin at 3:00pm and conclude with a small awards presentation to the victors at 8:00pm.
What is family doubles?
Family Doubles is a family focused event that creates a space for families to come out and enjoy each other in the arena of tennis.
This years' family doubles competition has five draws to sign up for:
1) Parent and child 14 & under - this draw is for parent and child teams where the child is 14 years or younger; within this group you may also sign up grandparent and grandchild or an aunt/uncle teaming up with their niece/nephew once the child is 14 years or younger.
2) Parent and child over 14 - this is the same as the previous draw except the "child" is older than 14 years.
3) Siblings - this draw can be formed of any combination or siblings, brother and sister, two brothers or two sisters. There is no division of age in this draw.
4) Cousins - this draw, as the name implies, is formed of two cousins
5) Couples - this is the newest draw to the lineup and is formed of couples whether married, engaged or dating.
In addition to these registered draws, we also have a Davis Cup style “battle of the sexes” match up. As the name implies, we will team up the girls against the boys.
You don't play tennis? NO PROBLEM!
There will still be activities for you and your kids to enjoy. We have the bouncy castle, Wii games and old time fair games like egg and spoon, three leg race and more! There will also be music playing and food and drinks on sale.
